World Environment Day - Show The Way Today




Dear Room 17,

Today is the World Environment Day and this year's host country is us, one of the first countries to work towards carbon neutrality. Since 1972, June 5 has been marked World Environment Day and celebrates environmental awareness worldwide.

2008's slogan "Kick the Habit! Toward a Low Carbon Ecomony" focuses on climate change and aims to provide resources to help everyone in the world lower/minimise their carbon footprint.

Now try and write a Haiku poem to express your ideas and thoughts on World Environment Day!

* How to write a Haiku poem?
Traditional Japanese haiku have seventeen syllables divided into three lines of five syllables, seven syllables, and five syllables respectively. These syllable counts are often ignored when haiku are written in other languages, but the basic form of three short lines, with the middle line slightly longer than the other two, is usually observed.
