On Scars - Ugly marks or tatoos of honour?

"There is something beautiful about all scars of whatever nature. A scar means the hurt is over, the wound is closed and healed, done with." Harry Crews

Dear Room 17,

Do you remember how we talked about "scars" in our writing session? Do you have any visible scars on you? How did you get it? What does it look like? How does it feel when you touch it? What are the 'invisible scars'? What does a scar mean to you? Can you explain your thoughts and ideas?

I would love to see some short and creative writings on scars from you posting here. Take a look at this One-Minute Writer web site (http://oneminutewriter.blogspot.com/2008/12/todays-writing-prompt-scar-story.html) for ideas and I am looking forward to seeing your fab writings.

Hi Tessa and Kane,

Thanks for the messages.

Kane, I hope your scars all healed-up by now. What did you feel when it happened? Did you cry?

Hi Erin,

Welcome 'back' to our class blog. Have you heard about "The X-File"? I think sometime we scare ourselves with funny reasons. In Room 17 we are not only talking about the physical scars, we have also discussed about the 'invisible' scars. For example, sad or bad experiences happened to you in the past.

Hi Lily, I have a scar on my foot from when I was boogie-boarding with my dad when I was 6. Me and my dad were serching for what cut me but we couldn't find it. When my dad was washing it with the hose (because we were at my Grandma and Poppa's bach) I was screaming my head off. Also when my cousin Lauren told me it was a scar I had to ask what it was because I had no idea what a scar was so she showed me her scar but she didn't mention how she got it because I would have told you how. Bye! From Gabriella.

Hi! Lily. This is lana.

I didn’t know that I have a scar. But when I was writing a comment, my mom told me I have some scars on my knee.

When I was young I love runnung. So I run everywhere.
But when I was playing tag with my cousins I fell down on the cement road.
I cried for a really long time and I got scar on my knee.
