Dear Room 14,We had a special guest, Nina Rycroft, who came to our school to share her experience as an illustrator this morning. We have had a quick look at most of her amazing artwork, and we have learnt that it takes time to craft and polish your work in order to create a quality product. Sometimes we need to go back and re-work or edit our work to make it better!
A big thank-you to our school librarian Bronwyn who has organised and invited Nina to come and talk to us about how she gets ideas from things or people around her, how she organises her ideas using a storyboard, how she uses the setting to enhance the characterisation, etc. We had a good time with Nina!

I liked how she signed our book and how drew the mouse. I think she is really talented and she is a really good illustrator. She must like illustrating alot because she put lots of effort into her book Ballroom Bonanza. I think it's a really awesome book because she illustrated it really nicely. From Molly Haist Rm 14.

nina is a fabuolous illistrator and drew a really cool picture/mouse of Mia in room 14. Mia made a really great mouse and was a marching mouse as well.
